(Beauty and the Beast)

In our latest venture, we had the pleasure to partner with create.eu, a valued ally with whom we've shared multiple creative journeys. Their professionalism, experience, and innovative spirit deeply resonate with us at Whojo, fostering a synergy that propels our projects to new heights.

This particular journey embarked with an intensive research phase, as we delved into historical archives in search of visual inspiration. It was during this explorative phase that we stumbled upon a nostalgic gem—a captivating intro scene from the 90’s Disney animation, 'Beauty and the Beast.' This discovery not only sparked our creativity but also set the tone for the unique narrative and visual style we aimed to achieve.

In a dance of craftsmanship and technology, we dynamically linked the RGB values of our illustrations to a host of hyper realistic stained glass textures.

A yellow hue, for instance, would render as 50% watered and 50% granite cathedral glass, hence infusing a spectrum of realism. These diverse textures lent a 3D depth to our 2D illustrations, creating an enchanting play of light and shadow.

(Feel like a part of history)

For the VR installations we created matte paintings and brought them to life via mesmerising 2.5D parallax effects, rendering a compelling stereoscopic experience teleporting you, the viewer back to 1302AD.

(A leap into VR)

The animations showcase dual perspectives – a first-person view from both the French and Flemish side. One VR view might plunge you into a French knight's reality; in the second, you're laying on the ground, seeing through the eyes of a Flemish warrior.

This dramatic duality lent an emotional depth to the experience, grounding the narrative in gritty realism.
